Founded in 2016 by Patricia Thumann, nani weddings & events is a wedding and event planning company based on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. In the Hawaiian language, “nani” means beautiful – a name that perfectly reflects our passion for creating meaningful moments in an extraordinary place.

About Us

Patricia

Owner, Planner & Officiant

Patricia Thumann brings more than 23 years of international experience in event management and wedding planning. Throughout her career, she has planned and produced events across Europe and the United States – from intimate celebrations to large-scale events with up to 5,000 guests.

Today, Patricia primarily works with couples who are planning to get married or renew their vows in Hawaiʻi. As an experienced wedding planner, bilingual wedding officiant and licensed marriage performer, she guides couples personally from their first ideas through the wedding day itself. Her international event background, combined with her local knowledge of Hawaiʻi, allows her to create celebrations that feel personal, thoughtful and true to each couple. Rather than focusing on elaborate productions, Patricia believes the most meaningful weddings are those that reflect the couple, their story and the experience they want to share.

Patricia Thumann and her work as a wedding planner and officiant in Hawaiʻi have been featured in a variety of German media outlets, including television appearances on ProSieben, ZDF and RTL, as well as features in magazines such as COSMOPOLITAN. In addition to her work in the wedding industry, Patricia is co-host of the German-language podcast “Unter uns Moms,” where she regularly shares insights into life in the United States, family life and her experiences living in Hawaiʻi.

Denise

Wedding Coordinator & Officiant

Denise believes that the magic is in the details. Her goal is to create the best and most memorable day for our clients. She is also a state-licensed officiant and speaks English and German. When Denise doesn’t work, she’s most likely out and about exploring new hikes and beaches with her two sons & husband. With her love for traveling, Denise also fell in love with different cultures and communicating with people from all over the world.

Alica

Wedding Officiant

Alica has many passions and is either traveling around the world as a tour guide or enjoying her role as a wedding officiant on Oahu. Due to her naturally open and friendly nature, she takes pleasure in sensitively engaging with each unique couple, creating unforgettable moments. Alica looks forward to accompanying you on the most important day of your life. She speaks both German and English and is a state-licensed marriage officiant.

Annika

Wedding Officiant & Asst. Coordinator

Annika loves discovering new things—whether it’s through her passion for traveling, or her sense of adventure while hiking through Hawaii’s breathtaking landscapes. Humor is the key to life for her, and she firmly believes that fate always leads us to where we’re meant to be. Perfectionism is part of who she is, which works to your advantage—because your big day should be nothing less than perfect! In her personal life, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dreaming of her second surf lesson. Annika speaks both German and English and is a state-licensed marriage officiant.

Lucie

Musician & Officiant

Lucie is a bilingual ordained minister and a state-licensed officiant. She is our “singing officiant” and plays and sings with the Ukulele for an additional fee. As a successful independent artist, Lucie has toured throughout the US and Europe. Her easy and warmhearted style soothes even the most anxious couple’s nerves. While not a native Hawaiian, Lucie can also blow the Hawaiian Pu’u (conch shell) before and after your ceremony. *Lucie is currently traveling through Europe and we look forward to welcoming her back someday soon.*

Brey+Jessica

Musicians

Our local musicians Jessica and Brey always add an extra touch of Aloha to the ceremony. If he isn’t performing for a wedding, you can find Brey performing at ‘Surf n Salsa’ on the North Shore and other various locations around the Island. His positive vibe is just
contagious! Jessica has a special connection to her songs, but also to her instruments. She even gives her Ukuleles names! She puts a great deal of thought and love into every detail. If she’s not at a beach wedding, you’ll find her performing and spreading Aloha in local venues around the island.

Kona + Hilo

Office Cats

Kona and Hilo are the resident Office Cats. Kona was adopted from a german shelter in 2013. Hilo was adopted in the same year, from a shelter in Spain. They enjoy watching printers, chasing each other and use every opportunity to join Skype Calls with clients. Kona and Hilo are not licensed to officiate or plan weddings in Hawaii.
